Misprint Marketplace Glossary
Plain-English definitions of the terms you'll see when buying and selling on Misprint.
- Bid
- An offer to buy a card at a price you set, below the lowest current listing. Your payment method is only charged if a seller matches your bid or lists at or below it. See Buyer Help.
- Ask (Listing)
- A seller's offer to sell a specific card at a set price. “Ask” and “listing” are used interchangeably. See Seller Help.
- Offer
- A general term for a proposed price. A buyer places a bid (an offer to buy); a seller sets an ask (an offer to sell). When a bid and an ask meet, they match into an order.
- Buy Now
- Purchase a card immediately at the lowest current listing price, rather than placing a bid and waiting for a match.
- Sell Now
- Sell your card immediately to the highest current bid, rather than listing an ask and waiting for a buyer. It's the seller-side equivalent of Buy Now.
- Match
- When a bid price and an ask price meet, the two automatically pair into a completed order. No further action is needed from either side to trigger the sale.
- Order
- A completed purchase. A single checkout can contain items from more than one seller, which creates a separate seller order (and separate shipment) for each seller.
- Seller Order
- One seller's portion of a buyer's order — the items that seller must ship together, with its own tracking and its own shipping fee.
- Payout
- The money a seller receives after a sale, equal to the sale price minus the platform fee, payment processing, and the shipping label cost. Payouts are processed after delivery. See Seller Levels & Fees.
- Store Credit / Misprint Credit
- A balance on your account you can apply to purchases. “Misprint Credit” is the name used for the credit subscribers earn — it is the same balance as store credit. See Store Credit.
- Graded card
- A card professionally authenticated and assigned a numeric condition grade by a grading company (PSA, BGS, or CGC), sealed in a tamper-evident slab. See our Card Grading Guide.
- Raw (ungraded) card
- A card that has not been professionally graded. Its condition is described using a tier such as Near Mint or Lightly Played. See the Card Condition Guide.
- Sealed product
- A factory-sealed, unopened item such as a booster pack, booster box, or Elite Trainer Box (ETB).
- Cert number
- The unique certification number a grading company prints on a graded slab. It can be looked up on the grading company’s website to verify the card and its grade.
