A plain-English breakdown of per-seller shipping, with worked examples and tips to pay less
Shipping on Misprint is calculated per seller. Every seller in your cart charges a $2.50 base fee, plus $2.50 per graded or sealed item and $0 per ungraded (raw) card that qualifies for the lower-cost shipping option. If your cart includes items from more than one seller, each seller ships separately, so you pay a separate shipping amount for each.
Formula: per seller = $2.50 base + ($2.50 × number of graded/sealed items) + ($0 × number of qualifying raw cards).
The table below shows the math for common carts. Notice how the base fee is charged once per seller, and how raw cards add nothing to the total.
| Cart | Calculation | Total shipping |
|---|---|---|
| 1 seller, 1 graded card | $2.50 + $2.50 | $5.00 |
| 1 seller, 1 raw card | $2.50 + $0 | $2.50 |
| 1 seller, 3 raw cards | $2.50 + $0 | $2.50 |
| 1 seller, 2 graded cards | $2.50 + $5.00 | $7.50 |
| 1 seller, 1 sealed product | $2.50 + $2.50 | $5.00 |
| 1 seller, 2 raw + 1 graded | $2.50 + $2.50 | $5.00 |
| 2 sellers, 1 graded card each | $5.00 + $5.00 (separate shipments) | $10.00 |
Because the $2.50 base fee is charged once per seller, the more items you buy from the same seller, the more that base fee is spread out. A single seller can pack several cards into one package, so you only pay the base fee once no matter how many cards you add from that seller.
Compare the last two rows in the table above. Buying two graded cards from one seller costs $7.50 in shipping, while buying one graded card from each of two sellers costs $10.00 — even though both carts contain two graded cards. When items are available from a seller you are already buying from, consolidating your order is the simplest way to cut your shipping total.
Ungraded (raw) cards add $0 to your shipping because they may qualify for a lower-cost USPS letter option when eligible. Raw cards are light and thin enough to travel safely in a protected letter-style mailer, which keeps costs down for everyone. Graded slabs and sealed products are bulkier and need more protective packaging, so each of those items adds $2.50. You will always see the exact shipping amount for your order in your cart before you pay.
Every seller fulfills and ships their own orders, so a cart with items from multiple sellers is split into separate shipments — one per seller. Each shipment is priced on its own using the same formula, and the totals are added together at checkout. This is also why items from different sellers can arrive on different days. To follow each shipment after you buy, see how to check your order status and tracking.
