How Shipping Costs Work on Misprint

The short version

Shipping on Misprint is calculated per seller, and it is one charge set by the largest item in that seller's package. Adding more items from the same seller only raises it when they need a bigger package. If your cart includes items from more than one seller, each seller ships separately, so you pay a separate shipping amount for each.

Why buying more from one seller saves money

Because shipping is one charge per seller, the more you buy from the same seller the further that single charge is spread. A seller packs everything into one package, so adding another card to an order you are already placing costs nothing extra — unless it needs a bigger package.

Compare the last two rows in the table above. Four graded cards from one seller cost $5.00 in shipping, while one graded card from each of two sellers costs $10.00. When items are available from a seller you are already buying from, consolidating your order is the simplest way to cut your shipping total.

Why raw cards are the cheapest to ship

Ungraded (raw) cards are light and thin enough to travel safely in a protected letter-style mailer, which is the cheapest thing we can put in the post. Two things take an order out of that mailer: more than 30 cards from one seller, where the stack is too thick, and a total over $50 from that seller, where it is worth more than we will send without tracking and insurance. Either one moves that seller to $5.00. Graded slabs and sealed packs always ship in a box, and sealed boxes need a bigger one again. You will always see the exact shipping amount for your order in your cart before you pay.

What happens with multi-seller carts?

Every seller fulfills and ships their own orders, so a cart with items from multiple sellers is split into separate shipments — one per seller. Each shipment is priced on its own using the same formula, and the totals are added together at checkout. This is also why items from different sellers can arrive on different days.
