How One Piece Releases Work
Bandai runs a fast, predictable cadence: a new main booster set roughly every quarter, with Extra Boosters, Premium Boosters, and starter decks filling the gaps. Two things worth knowing:
- English used to lag Japan by several months. As of 2026, Bandai has moved toward simultaneous global releases, so the gap has largely closed.

OP-16 is the most recent main set as of this writing.
A few sets stand out for collectors:
- OP-01 Romance Dawn is the foundational set, and genuine first-print ("Wave 1") sealed product carries a scarcity premium over later reprints.
- OP-05 Awakening of the New Era is home to the game's most iconic chase, the Gear 5 / Nika Luffy manga rare (OP05-119), a benchmark card for the entire market.
- OP-13 Carrying On His Will produced a wave of hyped red super-alternate-art chases in late 2025, and is a textbook example of the reprint-driven spike-and-cool cycle.

Note: Bandai has at times folded Japanese Extra Booster content (such as "Egghead Crisis") into the English OP main-set releases rather than shipping it as a standalone English set, so you may see dual set codes on some products.

Starter Decks (ST)
The starter deck line runs from ST-01 onward and is the recommended entry point for new players, each deck built around a color and a leader. Early evergreen decks include ST-01 (Straw Hat Crew), ST-02 (Worst Generation), and ST-03 (Seven Warlords), while more recent releases have covered leaders like Yamato, Marshall D.
